For those living with dementia, the average fall rate increases to four times per year. Even with preventative measures, residents at our memory care facility still face a higher risk when it comes to losing their balance.
At Clausen Manor, Lourdes is actively working to reduce the risk of falls through innovative fall detection technology, providing remote support to quickly catch fall risks and give families better peace of mind.
AI-enabled cameras are installed in the bedroom, where 70% of memory care falls occur. After receiving consent from the family, cameras run on-site 24/7 but only preserve the video surrounding a fall or event that ends with the resident on the floor. As such, staff can immediately act and make real-time decisions about future care by reviewing video footage.
